The semifinals of the 2012 FCS playoffs begin Friday with four teams remaining. The result from the two semifinal games will set up the national championship game.

The FCS playoffs continue this week with two semifinal matchups.


The first semifinal game will be played on Friday with No. 1 North Dakota State hosting No. 5 Georgia Southern. North Dakota State enters the game with a 12-1 record and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Bison knocked off Wofford, 14-7, to advance to the semifinals. Georgia Southern lost two games late in the season, but improved to 10-3 with a road win against Old Dominion last week. The Eagles are 4-2 on the road this season. The game is set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and WatchESPN.
Saturday’s second semifinal will match No. 2 Eastern Washington against Sam Houston State. EWU advanced to the semifinals with a 51-35 win against Illinois State. The Eagles are 11-2 on the season including 7-0 at home. Sam Houston State advanced to the semifinals despite not being ranked. The Bearkats went on the road and knocked off Montana State, 34-16, last week. Saturday’s game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET and be televised on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
The winners will advance to play in the national championship, which will be played on Jan. 5.
