Al Golden became the favorite to be the new head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers, according to Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel. Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez was reportedly high on Golden, who is currently the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. That report was followed immediately by this one:

Golden, who favors a tough, smashmouth style of football similar to what Wisconsin traditionally runs, has been rumored to be leaving Miami due to the threat of heavy NCAA sanctions looming as a result of the Nevin Shapiro scandal.
Golden, a former tight end at Penn State, has a record of 40-45 in seven seasons as a head coach at Miami and Temple. He is widely credited for reviving the Temple football program, which had been a doormat for decades prior to his arrival. Golden has a record of 13-11 in two seasons in Miami, both of which have come under the clouds of the scandal that broke just months after he took the job.
