Tyler Bray will declare for 2013 NFL Draft, according to report

The Vols will be looking for a new quarterback in 2013, as Tyler Bray reportedly will declare for the NFL Draft.

Sam Greenwood

Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray has decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2013 NFL Draft, according to Bruce Feldman at CBS Sports. Bray is the No. 66 prospect on Mocking the Draft's 2013 NFL Draft Big Board. While that places him as a fringe second-round selection, he could go higher in what is viewed as a weak quarterback class.

Bray put up some impressive numbers in his junior season, throwing for 3,612 yards and 34 touchdowns for the Vols. His nice stats didn’t translate to wins, and Tennessee made a change at head coach. Butch Jones is taking over in Knoxville with a run-heavy system that typically requires a mobile quarterback. With Bray being closer to a traditional, strong-armed pocket passer, he may have been left with little choice but to leave.

Bray finishes his career at Tennessee with 7,444 yards, 69 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. He received little support from a defense that allowed 35.7 points per game this season.
