How to watch Belk Bowl online, TV schedule, radio and more

For the first time since 1994, Duke will play in the postseason, this time against Cincinnati in the 11th annual Belk Bowl.

US PRESSWIRE

Last time the Duke Blue Devils participated in a bowl game was 1994, with Fred Goldsmith at the helm leading the team to a 8-4 season before losing in the Hall of Fame Bowl. Fast forward past 17 straight losing seasons, and the Blue Devils are back playing in a bowl game, this time against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the 11th annual Belk Bowl.

Despite getting off to a 6-2 start, Duke could be considered fortunate to make their way back into the postseason having lost four straight games to end the season, all of which were laughers except for the last one. Nonetheless, the Blue Devils will take it.

On the other hand, Cincinnati had another strong season, finishing at 9-3 and making their way to a sixth straight bowl game. With the Belk Bowl being their sixth straight postseason appearance, the Bearcats are 3-2 in their previous five bowl games. Yet again, though, Cincinnati will need to overcome a coaching change as head coach Butch Jones left town.

The Blue Devils have been forced into positions to score and pass, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to turn it into points against Cincinnati’s stout defense, which is allowing just 17.2 points per game.
