How to watch Armed Forces Bowl online, TV schedule, radio and more

The Rice Owls and their dual-threat quarterback Taylor McHargue will face the second-best rushing attack in the country in Cody Getz and the Air Force Falcons in an intriguing offensive matchup at the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 29.

The Rice Owls and Air Force Falcons will square off in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 29 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Owls enter the game winners of four straight games, and five out of their last six after stumbling to a 1-5 start. Rice beat rival SMU in impressive fashion as part of their streak of victories, but as Mountain West Connection points out, the Owls also lost to lowly Memphis earlier this season. They’ll have to be careful not to revert to their old ways, as any momentum that was carrying the Owls will likely disappear after a long layoff.

The end of Air Force’s regular season was almost opposite of that of Rice, as the Falcons dropped three out of their final four games, including a 41-21 loss to two-win Army. Air Force’s best win over the season came over Nevada in a 48-31 shootout in Colorado Springs on Oct. 26. In addition, the Falcons took No. 19 Michigan down to the wire in Ann Arbor in the second week of the season.

Rice is led by quarterback Taylor McHargue, who accounted for 22 total touchdowns while racking up 2,806 total yards. Air Force enters the game with the nation's second-best rushing attack, led by running back Cody Getz, who rushed for 1,213 yards and nine scores.
