2012 Navy-Army game final score: Midshipmen sing second for 11th straight year
Keenan Reynolds led Navy on a late touchdown drive that resulted in the winning score as the Midshipmen edged Army 17-13 on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field. With the victory, Navy captures the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy.

In the 113th meeting between the two teams, Navy edged Army 17-13 on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia thanks to the arms and legs of Midshipmen quarterback Keenan Reynolds. Navy has now won 11 straight games in the series. With the victory, Navy also captures the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.
Reynolds led Navy on a seven-play, 80-yard drive that resulted in the winning touchdown with just under five minutes left in the contest. He finished the game 10 of 17 passing for 130 yards, adding 40 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
Army almost scored the upset, thanks to a running game that amassed 370 total yards. Raymond Maples carried the ball 26 times for 153 yards for the Black Knights. Quarterback Trent Steelman chipped in 99 yards on 18 carries in defeat, but also was partially responsible for the fumble that ended the game.
Box Score Hero: Keenan Reynolds, quarterback, Naval Academy. When Navy needed a big play, Reynolds once again delivered, as he has since the moment he stepped into the starting quarterback role.
Rankings Ramifications: Neither team was ranked entering the game, nor will they likely be after the game. However, as noted above, Navy does capture the coveted Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy with the win. Air Force had won it in each of the two previous seasons.
But Did They Cover? The Midshipmen were favored by nine in the contest, and did not cover.

Next Week’s Schedule: This was the final regular season game for both teams, as well as the final game of the 2012 college football regular season. Navy will play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against Arizona State, on Dec. 29 in San Francisco.
