Don’t get me wrong, beating No. 8 Stanford after the Cardinal overpowered preseason No. 1 USC is quite an achievement, whether the upset victim here is as good as its streak of BCS bowls and elite recruiting classes would suggest or not.

The point is Stanford’s football program is now good enough, after having won only two bowls between 1978 and 2010 (the Sun and Blockbuster), to be considered a Goliath whose felled frame is big enough to dance on.
Still, begrudging you nothing, blacked-out Washington bros. Bro til you can bro no more.
