You might remember Cardale Jones -- the Ohio State freshman quarterback who made it clear that he was at Ohio State to play football, not go to class:
Ohio State’s Cardale Jones came to play school
Cardale Jones didn’t play any football this year, so maybe he’s at Ohio State for the academics after all -- and he showed his new mindset Thursday on Twitter.

Well, Cardale’s had a change of heart -- and a change of Twitter handle -- and is now Ohio State’s most eager bookworm, putting the “scholar” into “scholar-athlete”:
(Tweets captured at r/CFB)
Cardale caught some serious flak for his first tweet, which implied a) that the sanctity of the concept of football players making millions of dollars for schools in return for educations is a modestly flawed premise and b) class is boring -- both of which are extremely true statements.
So it’s nice that he’s either come to love school or at least realized he shouldn’t tweet about how much he hates it. Either that, or after not seeing the field this year as a redshirt freshman, he realized he didn’t come to play football after all and saw the error of his ways.
Plus, judging from his emojis -- a microscope? a telescope! -- Jones is taking some high-level science classes, or at least that one astronomy course your school offers where 80 percent of kids don’t show up and 10 percent of the ones that do are really stoned and just want to look at pictures of Saturn.
