The ACC is officially considering joining the ranks of conferences with their own television network: inspired by the oodles and oodles of cash the Big Ten is raking in thanks to the Big Ten Network, the conference has created a panel and hired a consultant to discuss the possibility of making the ACC Network.
ACC Network under consideration: Twitter recommends programming
The ACC is considering starting its own network! Twitter has a lot of ideas for shows, since Wake Forest basketball only takes up so many hours of the day.

It’s a smart move, likely: conference networks and branding have helped the Big Ten -- it was reportedly one of the main reasons Maryland switched from the ACC -- and the Pac-12 has reported similar success, although not yet to the same extent.
The problem is, there’s only so many hours of actual athletic programming, and with ESPN holding the ACC’s media rights for the next 15 years, it’s unlikely the ACC Network will be able to broadcast huge amounts of conference games anytime in the near future. That leaves a lot of dead air. Luckily, Twitter was more than willing to suggest programming ideas that could fill up air time, thanks to the #ACCNetworkShows hashtag, which is still raging, and still awesome:
