Virginia Tech interviews Scot Loeffler for potential OC job
Frank Beamer hasn’t announced any openings on his coaching staff, but he had Loeffler in Blacksburg Monday to discuss Virginia Tech’s offensive coordinator position.

Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer is trying to shake up his staff after a disappointing 7-6 season. The Hokies had issues offensively all season long, and they finished ranked 81st nationally in both total offense and scoring.
Loeffler has a long history of coaching on the offensive side of the ball -- his career began at Michigan in 1996, and he's coached quarterbacks for Central Michigan, the Detroit Lions and the Florida Gators. He got his first shot as an offensive coordinator in 2011 for the Temple Owls and then moved on to Auburn this past season.
The Owls finished 63rd in total offense and 39th in scoring in 2011. Auburn finished 2012 ranked 115th in total offense and 112th in scoring.
Former Auburn offensive line coach Jeff Grimes was also in Blacksburg Monday to discuss filling the OL job at Virginia Tech.
