Several players who had stellar college careers, including Heisman Trophy finalist Collin Klein will try to show off their talents in the East-West Shrine Game, to be held Saturday Jan. 19, in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Kansas State’s Collin Klein and Notre Dame’s Theo Riddick are among the many players in Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game successful college careers looking to prove they can contribute in the NFL -- possibly at new positions.

Klein had an amazing year for Kansas State, but people have been skeptical of his ability to perform at the NFL level. He’s got height -- 6-foot-5 -- but his strength was always his ability to move out of the pocket, only throwing for 300 yards once while running for over 100 on four occasions. He’ll try to prove that he can use his skills in a pro-style offense in the Shrine Game, or perhaps try to prove to NFL teams that he’s worth a shot as a wide receiver.
Klein is joined on the East roster by Colby Cameron, who had an exceptional season in Sonny Dykes' Air Raid offense for Louisiana Tech. They'll be throwing to a pair of Virginia Tech wide receivers in Corey Fuller and Marcus Davis, as well as Army QB Trent Steelman, who will be trying to show NFL teams he can be a factor as a wide receiver after a gutty performance in the Army-Navy game drew national attention. Pitt RB Ray Graham is an intriguing prospect as well.
Another player is switching to wide receiver for the West squad: Theo Riddick, who was the top running back on the Notre Dame team that was just in the national championship game, will be trying his hand at a receiving position. Also participating will be Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis and UCLA tight end Joseph Fauria, who brings NFL size at 6-foot-7. Texas Tech's Seth Doege, Arizona's Adam Scott, and Western Michigan's Alex Carder will be the quarterbacks.
37 players in last year’s game were drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. This year’s game will be 4 p.m. on the NFL Network.
