NFLPA Collegiate Bowl 2013 final score: American team blown-out, 34-0

The National defense consistently got in the face of the American team’s quarterbacks, forcing two interceptions.

USA TODAY Sports

Without much incentive to win, all-star games have the tendency to turn into blow-outs, but usually not to the level of the 34-0 drubbing that the National team handed to the American team at the second annual 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Dayne Crist of Kansas got the game rolling in the National team's favor early on with a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the first eight minutes of the game. Washington State's Jeff Tuel kept the pedal to the floor in relief of Crist, completing each of his eight passes on Saturday night, including a nine-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Boyce.

On the American team, Vanderbilt's Jordan Rodgers had a pretty decent game, completing eight of 11 passes for 87 yards, but the performance wasn't enough to find the endzone once as the National defense dominated. With consistent pressure that was in the face of the American quarterbacks throughout the game, the National defense was able to come away with two interceptions.

National coach Dick Vermeil felt pretty good about his team’s victory.
