The Houston Cougars could be the latest college football team to get chromed out helmets, according to a picture tweeted by one of their recruits. Quarterback John O'Korn, a three-star quarterback from Ft. Lauderdale currently committed to the Cougars, tweeted this picture on Saturday, showing two different helmets that weren't worn by Houston this past season:

A Cougars recruit tweeted a picture of previously unseen helmet models, two of which were quite chromed out.

The helmets in the picture include a matte white model with red lettering, which is the opposite version of the Cougars’ traditional red helmet with white lettering, a chrome helmet with red lettering, as well as a shiny red helmet with a chrome cougar logo and facemask. The school has not announced any official uniform changes at this point, but an athletic department spokesperson told the Houston Chronicle that the models in the picture are mock ups.
The Cougars will begin playing in the Big East in 2013, leaving Conference USA after 17 years in the conference.
