The South beat the North, 21-16, on Saturday in the 2013 Senior Bowl, and the defenses got the better of the offenses for much of the game. Here’s a look at who made a positive impression with their performance on the field, and who failed to give a good account of themselves.
Senior Bowl 2013: Winners and losers
The defenses generally got the best of the offenses on Saturday in the Senior Bowl, but here’s a closer look at which individual players can be considered winners or losers based on their performances.

Winners:
Ezekiel Ansah: The defensive end from BYU was a disruptive force, and probably had the best performance of any player in the game. Ansah's performance this week has drawn attention, and it's looking likely that he will be selected in the top 10 at the draft.
Johnathan Franklin: The UCLA running back ran for over eight yards per carry, and cashed in a 20-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Kenjon Barner: Barner only had three carries for 13 yards, but showed a lot of versatility catching the ball. The Oregon running back caught seven passes for 59 yards, including a late touchdown pass from Zac Dysert.
Losers:
The Quarterbacks: None of the quarterbacks that played on Saturday really turned in a shining performance. Syracuse's Ryan Nassib and Oklahoma's Landry Jones really struggled, and none of the six quarterbacks that got playing time really did much to improve their draft stock. Florida State's E.J. Manuel had two touchdowns, including one on the ground, but also threw an interception. Admittedly, a week of practice with unfamiliar teammates is not conducive for good offensive performance, but they did themselves no favors.
Justin Pugh: The Syracuse offensive lineman did not have a great day in the trenches, and had trouble dealing with Ansah and Georgia's Cornelius Washington. The big knock against him is that he has short arms, which may mean he will have to move into an interior line position.
