It looks like Nevada will have some new or alternate helmets in 2013, if this tweet from Wolf Pack recruit Cameron Hartsfield is any indication:
Potential new Nevada football helmets are surprisingly normal
Nevada may have some new helmets in 2013, but they’re keeping the designs traditional.

These are rather tame by alternate-helmet standards, as they aren’t matte, and they do not feature a hugely blown-up school logo. I guess they missed the memo on the whole matte deal, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But they could use a dose of imagination for a new logo, just as a change of pace. Like what about a pistol in honor of the offense born in Reno? Or maybe just Chris Ault shooting off some finger guns while winking.
Nevada could probably work Colin Kaepernick in there somewhere as well. You can't have a helmet design that's too busy these days. Ault's visage could be matte, while Kaepernick's is chrome. Just toss all those newfangled styles on one helmet.
