BCS Championship 2013: Chance Warmack leads Alabama’s NFL Draft prospects

Chance Warmack has the chance to be the rare interior lineman to be drafted in the top five.

Alabama will be gunning for their second consecutive on Monday night when they take on Notre Dame in Miami, FL, but that will just be the start of a very busy 2013 for many of their players. With so many great talents playing on such a good team, it is not a surprise that a slew of Crimson Tide will go from the National Championship Game to preparing for the 2013 NFL Draft.

Leading the way for Alabama draft prospects is Chance Warmack. The senior has been dominant all year and according to NFL.com, is the top draft prospect in the National Championship Game.

1) Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama: It is uncommon for an interior blocker to sit atop any list of top prospects, but Warmack’s talent is too good to ignore. Warmack is a mountain of a man with remarkable athleticism and movement skills. Most importantly, he is a physical blocker capable of moving defenders off the ball in the running game. With Warmack also adept at stalemating rushers in pass protection, there are few questions regarding his game. Bottom line: He is unquestionably the most pro-ready prospect in the BCS Championship Game.

Most teams wouldn’t even consider an interior lineman in the top five, but they will make an exception for Warmack. He is that good and will be paving the way for Alabama ball carriers in Miami.

Alabama has plenty of other excellent future pros as well. Dee Milliner is considered by many to be the best cornerback in this year's draft, assuming the junior decides to enter, and Jesse Williams is as good against the run as any defensive tackle. Barrett Jones has also drawn praise from scouts, who can play anywhere across the offensive line and teams with Warmack to give the Crimson Tide one of the best front fives in the nation.
