Georgia nose tackle Kwame Geathers will enter the NFL Draft after his junior season, despite not starting his junior season behind sure first-round pick John Jenkins.

Kwame Geathers wasn’t able to start at Georgia behind certain first-round pick John Jenkins, but the 6’6 nose tackle showed his physical talents while on the field and has declared for the 2013 NFL Draft.

The 6’6, 355-pounder was in an unfortunate position considering his talent: he got to play a decent amount, recording 40 tackles, but was second fiddle to Jenkins in Georgia’s vicious 3-4 defense. However, scouts still noticed the gargantuan Geathers, as he told a Georgia fan site that a draft advisory committee told him he would be a third to sixth-round draft pick.
Georgia allowed only 19.6 points per game last year, 18th in the nation, but lose many of their stars: Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree have already declared, while important players such as Jenkins and Bacarri Rambo were seniors. Now they're without their top two nose tackles, big factors in controlling the line of scrimmage and stopping the run.
Geathers is the brother of NFL defensive end Robert Geathers, who left Georgia for the NFL Draft in 2003.
