Missouri QB James Franklin could be out 6 weeks due to separated shoulder

Franklin’s surgically repaired shoulder gets driven into the turf on the play.

Update:

Missouri has Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M next.

Missouri's star quarterback James Franklin was knocked out of the No. 25 Tigers' upset bid at Georgia after taking a big hit and injuring his right (throwing) shoulder on the play.

Franklin was driven into the turf by Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jordan Jenkins, and while the play doesn't look especially dirty, it does mean the Missouri QB had to take a seat and receive treatment. That's the same shoulder that Franklin had surgery on during the offseason, so there's the potential of this being a very serious injury.

Maty Mauk came in to relieve Franklin and is the Missouri QB going forward for as long as Franklin is out, but on Mizzou's TD that put the team up eight points to finish the drive, it was WR Bud Sasser with the heroics through the air, as he connected with fellow wideout L'Damian Washington on a double pass for a 40-yard TD.

Hey, if Missouri can do that through the air without Frnaklin, what’s the worry, right? Right???
