College football scores: Clemson on upset alert, Oregon in a battle

As they approach halftime at Clemson, Boston College holds a 7-0 lead on the No. 3-ranked Tigers. A Myles Wilson 38-yard touchdown run is the only score so far. Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd has been accurate, going 16/21 for 174 yards so far, but the Tigers have managed just 58 rushing yards so far and lost two fumbles. Chase Rettig is 9/13 passing for the Eagles.

At Husky Stadium, No. 2 Oregon and No. 16 Washington are locked in a slugfest, with the Ducks up 14-7 early in the second quarter. Oregon got into the end zone on a fourth-down plunge, capping a 10-play drive that featured three goal line replays. Washington struck back immediately with a nine-play, 76-yard drive that ended in a Keith Price touchdown pass to Austin Sefarian-Jenkins. Oregon converted a Washington fumble into a touchdown with 8:41 to play in the second quarter.

No. 10 LSU has opened a 14-3 lead on Florida late in the second quarter. The Bayou Bengals managed two second-quarter scoring drives, and have doubled Florida's offensive output so far. Gators quarterback Tyler Murphy has struggled, going just 4/9 for 42 yards so far.

After a sluggish start, No. 15 Baylor leads Kansas State 21-10 at the half. Bryce Petty hit Tevin Reese on a 93-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter to give Baylor a 14-7 lead, and another bomb -- this one 72 yards to Antwan Goodley -- extended the lead to 11 points. Petty already has 261 yards on 10/16 passing. Kansas State has relied heavily on the running game, racking up 163 yards on 27 first-half attempts.

In the Big Ten game of the week, Wisconsin has built a 21-6 halftime lead on No. 19 Northwestern. Wildcats quarterback Kain Colter left the game with an ankle injury, but has returned. Melvin Gordon broke a 71-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes left in the first half, but a late Northwestern field goal cut the Badger lead to 15.
