Florida RB Matt Jones done for the day vs. LSU

It’s unclear how Jones got hurt, but he’s done for the day nonetheless.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Florida running back Matt Jones is done for the rest of the day, according to the Palm Beach Post’s Jason Lieser. It’s unclear at this point how Jones got hurt, but the street clothes would seem to indicate that it’s serious enough that he’s not going to play again versus the Tigers.

Florida trails LSU 14-3 in the third quarter, and the Gator offense has struggled to find their footing. Jones, a sophomore from Seffner (Fla.), only had four rushes for 17 yards against LSU, as Mack Brown has taken the lion's share of the carries, but it hurts to have one any viable offensive option taken away. Time is beginning to grow short for the Gators, who have yet to really show any life on offense. Thank goodness for their defense, which is keeping the Tigers within striking distance.
