Florida State favored on the road at Clemson

The Seminoles are three-point favorites in Death Valley.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Two likely top-five teams will square off in an incredible matchup of ACC teams this Saturday when Florida State travels to face Clemson. In a surprising move by Las Vegas, the visiting Seminoles are favored at Death Valley by three points.

Memorial Stadium in Clemson is considered one of the toughest places to play in college football, and the Seminoles have not won there since 2001.

Both teams enter the game undefeated, with the Seminoles sporting a 5-0 record and the Tigers at 6-0. The game could in all likelihood determine the ACC Atlantic champion, and eliminate the loser from national title contention.

The ACC has been promoting the game relentlessly, with a video-game style video focusing on the unreal numbers quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Tajh Boyd have put up this season. The game will be featured on College GameDay, which will be the second time GameDay travels to Clemson this year (after being present for the opening-week win over Georgia). The Tigers are 2-0 when hosting the pre-game program.

While the Tigers have more wins and the better marquee victory (Georgia), Florida State has, objectively, looked better. The Seminoles have blown out every opponent they’ve faced (with the closest game being a 14-point win over Boston College), while the Tigers have had three contests decided by less than two touchdowns.
