Good news for Ole Miss’ Serderius Bryant, but still a concussion

All other tests come back negative for the Rebel linebacker.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss linebacker Serderius Bryant suffered what looked to be a scary injury in the Rebels' loss Saturday to Texas A&M, but the good news out of Oxford tells us the linebacker has only suffered a concussion, as all other tests came back negative.

Bryant was injured late in the game Saturday night when he attempted to tackle Aggie quarterback Johnny Manziel, and his head had a nasty impact with the Texas A&M star's chest, leaving him motionless on the field for several minutes before being carted off. Bryant was able to give a thumbs up sign to the crowd as he was exiting the field, and later told his mom he was "okay".

The Rebels' defense is considerably banged up, as Bryant joins defensive linemen Isaac Gross, Woodrow Hamilton, C.J. Johnson, Robert Nkemdiche and Carlos Thompson as front seven players who are injured.
