Maty Mauk, a redshirt freshman making the first start of his career in place of James Franklin, has done plenty to frustrate Florida's stout defense on Saturday afternoon. Late in the first half, a Florida lineman pretty blatantly shoved Mauk right in the helmet and sent him to the ground. No flag was thrown on the play.

This play happened about an hour after Georgia defensive end Ray Drew was controversially flagged and ejected for targeting Vanderbilt quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels. It was probably the worst targeting ejection yet.
Until college football officials can find a way to consistently get these calls right, it’s going to be an issue for teams every single week. How can Georgia lose 15 yards and get a player ejected for doing that, while Florida wasn’t even flagged? It’s a mess.
