Devon Cajuste injury: Stanford tight end goes down with injured right leg

The junior’s season-best performance could be cut short by injury.

Stanford tight end Devon Cajuste left early in the fourth quarter of the Cardinal's game against UCLA Saturday with an apparent injury to his right leg. Cajuste received a pass over the middle of the field, when he was tackled by two UCLA defenders. Cajuste was twisted sideways, and his leg bent in the wrong direction. He immediately grabbed his right leg and was helped off the field by medical staff. It remains unclear whether the injury was to his knee or ankle.

Cajuste has been critical to Stanford’s offense Saturday, recording six catches for 104 yards, including a 34-yard reception. The six catches are a season-high for Cajuste. Through the Bruins’ first five games, he had caught 14 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns.

Stanford leads UCLA 17-10 early in the fourth quarter.
