For a while there, it looked like UCLA was going to hang with Oregon. The Bruins traveled to Eugene and gave the Ducks a run for their money in the first half, but a dominating second half from Oregon put any upset thoughts swiftly to bed.

Brett Hundley had two touchdowns in the first half -- one through the air, one on the ground -- but the Ducks kept pace with two rushing touchdowns (from De'Anthony Thomas and Byron Marshall).
Thomas checked out of the game, as his ankle injury continued to bother him, but Marshall did just fine in his stead. He ran for two more scores in the second half, Marcus Mariota threw a touchdown pass, and Thomas Tyner ran a short one in as the Ducks scored 28 unanswered in the third and fourth quarters to win it, 42-14.
With a big matchup against Stanford approaching, David Piper of Addicted to Quack saw the Ducks’ performance as a positive sign in their hopes of avoiding a repeat of last year’s loss to Stanford:
The win sets the stage for the biggest game of Oregon’s season. The Ducks travel to Palo Alto to face that team that ended their hopes last year. But if there is any indication that this year’s team will be different, it’s what they did when faced with that close home game that has been their downfall the past two seasons. Instead of being bottled up, the Ducks broke out the bulldozer. Easy 28 point win.

But there is still a big difference between Mora’s words and what we are seeing on the field, and it accounts for a lot of the anger that is being directed towards him and particularly his offensive coordinator. Instead of our team getting better every week, the team seems to have plateaued and the offense is regressing. These story of our last two games really had the same plot, just with slightly different scores in the end. The Bruins played even with both Stanford and Oregon in the first halves, but then saw the offense tank and the defense tire as both the Cardinal and the Ducks pulled away in the second halves, and the Bruins never really looked like they had a chance in the end of either game
