BYU vs. Utah State score: Cougars light up scoreboard in 3rd quarter

Playing without star quarterback Chuckie Keeton, Utah State lost control of its game with BYU on Friday night. After three quarters of play, the Cougars hold a 31-7 lead.

The Aggies only trailed 17-7 at the half, but they were unable to get any kind of offense going in the third. Craig Harrison, who came in relief of Keeton, has completed 13-of-27 passes for just 109 yards.

Taysom Hill connected with Mitch Mathews on a six-yard touchdown strike to cap off BYU’s first drive of the second half. Hill and Mathews then hooked up for their third touchdown connection of the night, a 43-yard pass play that pushed the lead to 31-7.

On the night, Hill has completed 16-of-29 passes for 218 yards and the three aforementioned touchdowns. The Cougars have also carried the football 37 times for 133 yards.
