Georgia Tech came out of the locker room looking like they were going to give Clemson a fight in the second half. Robert Godhigh, who has been the Yellow Jackets' only source of offensive production, ripped off a 65-yard touchdown run to narrow Clemson's lead to 10.
Clemson leads Georgia Tech 41-24 entering fourth quarter
But Tajh Boyd responded, as he has all night, with a pair of long passes to set up Clemson scores. Boyd hit Martavis Bryant for a 33-yard pass that put the Tigers at the Georgia Tech 1-yard line and ran the ball in from there, picking up his fourth touchdown of the night and his first on the ground. On Clemson's next offensive play, Boyd completed his fourth pass of 40 yards or more when he hit Sammy Watkins for a 44-yard touchdown pass. By comparison, the Virginia Cavaliers have had just three passing plays of 40 yards or more during the entire 2013 season.
There was a scary moment on the last play of the third quarter when Boyd went down at the end of a 7-yard run with an apparent injury to his upper body. Boyd needed some assistance getting up from the ground but was able to walk off the field under his own power before heading to the locker room. He has since returned to the sidelines and was last seen warming up.
