Clemson QB Tajh Boyd injures left collarbone against Georgia Tech

Clemson’s star quarterback left for the locker room with an apparent arm injury, later ruled a collarbone, but appeared fine on the sidelines by the end of the game.

Update: Clemson announced it’s a collarbone injury and that Boyd is done for the night. Boyd did return to the sideline shortly afterward.

Star Clemson senior quarterback Tajh Boyd suffered an upper arm injury in the third quarter against Georgia Tech. While being tackled, Boyd landed awkwardly on his non-throwing arm's shoulder area. He remained down on the turf for a moment, surrounded by team personnel, before walking to the sideline for further examination. He was then escorted to the locker room.

A look at his landing, via ESPN:

There’s been no official announcement yet on his condition, but he was seen moving his arm. Obviously a good sign. Another potential good sign:

Boyd has thrown for 340 yards and rushed for another 43 so far against Georgia Tech. The Tigers led when Boyd departed, 41-24, entering the fourth quarter.

His backup, Cole Stoudt, warmed up and led a quick touchdown drive. Stoudt, a junior, has experience in spot duty over the last three seasons.
