Can the Blue Devils prove they’re for real against Miami?

The Hurricanes started out the season 7-0, sporting a top-10 ranking that was boosted by a win over previously ranked Florida. A game against Florida State was a reality check, as Miami lost, 41-14, to the Seminoles. The hangover extended to the next game, as Miami lost to Virginia Tech, 42-24.
Duke has been one of the biggest surprises of the college football season. David Cutcliffe has continued his transformation of the program, taking it to new heights. After starting off conference play with losses to Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh, the Blue Devils have rattled off five wins in a row, including ACC wins against Virginia, Virginia Tech and NC State.
The numbers
Rankings and records: The Hurricanes are ranked No. 23 in the latest BCS standings. Miami and Duke, with identical 3-2 conference records, are two of four teams with two losses in the Coastal Division. The Hurricanes hold a 9-1 lead in the all-time series and have won nine in a row against the Blue Devils. They haven’t lost to Duke since 1976.
Vegas: Miami is a 3-point favorite.
Weather: 60s and sunny.
Three names to know
Brandon Connette. Duke uses two different quarterbacks, but Connette has been far more effective than Anthony Boone. A dual-threat, Connette has thrown for 12 touchdowns and run for eight more.
Stephen Morris. On the other side is the senior quarterback Morris, who has struggled holding on to the ball but is a serious deep threat.
Shayon Green. The senior has repeatedly broken into the opposing backfield this season, and leads the Hurricanes with 10.5 tackles for a loss this year.
Two things at stake
Miami has an easy schedule after this game, and a win here gives the Hurricanes a chance at the division title.
Duke is still in the running for the divisional title as well, but has to win out to realistically have a chance after an early-season loss to Georgia Tech.
