The Arizona Wildcats stomped Oregon 42-16 Saturday, making it the third consecutive week that a Top 5 Pac-12 team lost. The loss definitively takes the Ducks (9-2, 6-2 Pac-12) out of the BCS National Championship picture and puts Stanford back in the driver's seat in the Pac-12 North. Arizona (7-4, 4-4 Pac-12) boosted their bowl standing with their seventh victory, and have a chance to play spoiler against rival Arizona State next week.

Arizona threw a wrench into Oregon’s BCS plans with a shocking blowout of the Ducks Saturday.

Arizona jumped to a 14-0 lead after just eight minutes, and a third Wildcats touchdown early in the second period extended the lead to 21-3. Oregon's Marcus Mariota connected with Pharaoh Brown on a short touchdown pass, but Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey's second score of the day gave the Wildcats a 28-9 lead at the half.
Oregon can score in a hurry, and even a 19-point halftime lead is not safe. But the Arizona defense slowed down the Ducks’ running attack and got crucial stops, preventing Oregon from getting back in the game. Carey’s third touchdown of the game, this one from nine yards out late in the third period, put the game out of reach. Carey added a fourth touchdown in the final period.
Box Score Hero: Ka’Deem Carey finished with 206 yards on 48 carries, scoring four touchdowns. He was key to an Arizona rushing attack that racked up 307 yards.
Rankings Ramifications: Oregon’s loss, their second in three weeks, could send the No. 5 Ducks plummeting down the polls. Expect Oregon to land in the low teens. Arizona’s four losses will still keep the Wildcats out of the Top 25, but they could receive some votes.
But Did They Cover? Oregon was a 20-point favorite. Suffice it to say, they did not cover.
