It wasn't a pretty game, but the Vanderbilt Commodores came into Neyland Stadium and picked up a 14-10 comeback win over the Tennessee Volunteers. The 'Dores scored with 16 seconds left to snatch the win away from the Vols, and also ensure another losing season for their in-state rivals.

It took a fake jump pass to seal the deal, but the Commodores picked up another win over the Vols.

The Commodores got on the board first by way of a Jerron Seymour rushing touchdown midway through the first quarter. The Vols knotted the score at 7-7 on a Rajion Neal touchdown rush, and that would be the scoreline at the break. Tennessee would take the lead on a 32-yard field goal from Adam Palardy in the third quarter.
This game’s calling card would be the mistakes. The two teams combined for seven turnovers, and both teams were atrocious on third downs. Josh Dobbs finished with only 53 passing yards for the Vols, and they bizarrely opted for a fake field goal on fourth down and 19 in the fourth quarter. Vanderbilt had an opportunity to tie the game, but Carey Spear’s attempt from 42 yards was just short.
The Commodores would have one final drive late in the game, which was extended on review after the officials ruled them short on a fourth down and inches spot. They made it count, as Austyn Carta-Samuels took the ball in on a fake jump pass from six yards out with 16 seconds remaining to steal the game.

Vanderbilt wideout Jordan Matthews caught 13 passes for 133 yards and also set a new SEC record for career receptions. Rajion Neal did the heavy lifting for Tennessee, rushing for 95 yards and scoring their only touchdown.
Rankings Ramifications:
Neither team was ranked in the latest BCS standings, and neither will be after this game.

The Vols were 2.5-point favorites at kickoff, so they covered the spread.
