Along the college coaching lines, there has been plenty of chatter about Coach Sumlin as a potential fit with the Texans ...

— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) November 24, 2013 Sumlin has previously been reported to be USC’s “top target” for their vacant head coaching position, although the Trojans have reportedly interviewed Jack Del Rio for the position. Texas has had a successful second half of the season, but new athletic director Steve Patterson may want to make changes -- although it seems unlikely that Sumlin would be the answer. After a 2-0 start, the Texans have lost eight games in a row -- the longest losing streak in franchise history.
Sumlin posted a 35-17 record in four years at Houston, and has a 19-5 mark at Texas A&M.
