The Apple Cup rivalry between Washington and Washington State is one of the oldest in college football. The two schools first met in the year 1900 and have played nearly every season since, creating one of the premier rivalries across the greater northwest. Rest assured there will be no love lost when they two teams take the field at Husky Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Rankings and records: Neither team comes in ranked, though they’re both bowl eligible and coming off big wins. Washington leads the all-time series 67-32-6, though the two schools have split the last 10 meetings. Last year, Washington State won a 27-24 thriller in overtime.
Vegas: Washington comes in as a 14-point favorite.
Weather: There’s a decent chance of rain on Friday with temperatures in the high-40s at kickoff.

Bishop Sankey - One of the three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, Sankey leads the Huskies with 1,575 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns this season. He will get the football early and often.
Cyler Miles - It's unclear who will start at quarterback with Keith Price still banged up. Miles, who started last week against Oregon State, has played well in Price's absence, completing 36-of-56 passes for 412 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Connor Halliday - It's not always pretty, but Halliday is a big reason why the Cougs are 6-5 this season despite throwing 19 interceptions. The junior QB is coming off a monster performance against Utah in which he threw for 488 yards and four touchdowns.
Two things at stake
A loss for UW would drop the Huskies to 7-5 this season, including a 4-5 mark against the Pac-12. Steve Sarkisian’s job is probably safe regardless of Friday’s outcome, but back-to-back losses to the Cougs would not sit well with the Washington faithful.
The Cougars are already bowl eligible for the first time in a decade, but a road win would go a long way towards getting WSU to a better bowl game next month.
