Iron Bowl punches thrown: DeAndrew White and Jonathon Mincy trade blows

It’s been a great day for college football players getting way too excited and socking each other in the helmets.

Late in the fourth quarter in the biggest game of the year so far and possibly the biggest Iron Bowl ever, tensions came to a head. Alabama’s DeAndrew White and Auburn’s Jonathon Mincy wound up popping each other after a play near Auburn’s goal line.

It didn’t end up amounting to much, as officials wisely determined the two were going back and forth, rather than there being a single aggressor. Still, it was a treacherous moment for Auburn, since it looked at first that the sole flag would go against Mincy. Teammates barked in his face until referees dinged White as well.

All was for naught in the end, as Bama’s field goal attempt was blocked.

Previously, Ohio State-Michigan got WAY more punchy.
