Colorado State coaches jaw with Washington State QB Connor Halliday

Some may not expect bowl games to be chippy affairs, but the Washington State Cougars and Colorado State Rams appear to be pretty worked up early.

Things have just gotten underway in the New Mexico Bowl, and the game is already getting a bit testy. The Washington State Cougars took an early 7-0 lead on a long touchdown pass from Connor Halliday, and the signal caller took a couple seconds after the play to give the Colorado State sideline some sass. As you can see, defensive line coach Greg Lupfer did not take it well.

You’ll note CSU assistant strength and conditioning coach Rashad Harris firmly escorting Halliday away from the Rams sideline.

The Cougars have been feisty this year. You’ll remember back in September when they laid a 42-0 beatdown on Idado, head coach Mike Leach and Idaho head coach Paul Petrino mixed it up a little after the game. It’s still early in the first quarter, so the chance of continued pleasantries is quite high.
