Tulane cornerback Jordan Sullen carted off after apparent head injury

He’s expected to recover after being “knocked out cold,” according to ESPN.

Tulane cornerback Jordan Sullen was carted off with an injury in the third quarter of the New Orleans Bowl. While attempting to make a tackle, he slipped and was accidentally kicked in the head by UL Lafayette player Elijah McGuire.

Sullen, a senior, has 44 tackles and 12 passes defensed this season.

Sullen slumped and remained motionless for several minutes as trainers surrounded him. He was eventually loaded onto a cart, where he was visibly alert and gesturing to his teammates.

He was checked for a neck injury, but was found to be completely fine, according to ESPN’s Jeannine Edwards. He is reportedly being taken with his family to nearby Tulane Medical Center, for precautionary reasons.

Observing the scene was Devon Walker, a former Green Wave player who was paralyzed last season and has remained with the team. Walker was interviewed by ESPN just moments before the play.
