Colorado State running back Kapri Bibbs declares for 2014 NFL Draft

The sophomore led the nation in rushing touchdowns this season.

Star Colorado State running back Kapri Bibbs has declared for the NFL Draft, foregoing his final two years of college eligibility in favor of a shot at the pros. The player announced the news on his personal Twitter account.

Bibbs excelled in head coach Jim McElwain’s pro-style system, leading the nation with 31 rushing touchdowns and averaging 6.2 yards per carry this season. A junior college transfer, the sophomore set the Colorado State single-season records for rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, points and sophomore rushing yards in his only season with the Rams.

Our own Mocking the Draft does not have any running backs selected in the first round, and the lack of perceived elite talent at the position makes the opportunity ripe for Bibbs to try and latch on with a team.

Four of Colorado State's offensive linemen are graduating this season, including Weston Richburg (one of the top centers in the draft), so Bibbs is certainly selling high.
