SEC Championship 2013 odds and trends: Trends favor an Auburn win

Expect the point total to hit the over, if recent history is any indication.

Auburn and Missouri square off in this week’s SEC Championship game, and the Tigers from Alabama are slight favorites in what should be a tight game. Make sure to head over to OddsShark for all your betting needs.

Auburn opened as a -2 point favorite with an over/under of 58 points, and the line has not budged — for either the spread or the total. The moneyline has moved slightly, with Auburn -127 and Missouri +113, to -130 and +110, respectively.

In their last 11 games as a favorite, Auburn is undefeated straight-up, covering the spread eight times. In their last dozen SEC games, Missouri has covered the spread 10 times. Auburn has had a similar level of success in their recent conference games, covering the spread in their past seven SEC contests.

The favored team in six of the past seven SEC Championship game has come home the winner.

In postseason play, Auburn has had a lot of recent success, winning ten of their past eleven contests after the regular season had concluded.
