Suspended Alabama football players banned from campus

Three of the Alabama players arrested Monday in connection with two robberies, where they allegedly assaulted fellow students, have been barred from campus until the school completes its review.

Nelson Chenault-US PRESSWIRE

Eddie Williams, Tyler Hayes, and D.J. Pettway, the three players arrested earlier this week on robbery charges, have been barred from campus, the school announced.

Williams and Hayes admitted guilt after allegedly attacking and stealing items from two separate students on campus Monday morning, according to police. All three have been suspended from the team indefinitely. Williams, a defensive back, was also implicated for credit card fraud alongside running back Brent Calloway, who is also suspended from the team but has apparently not been barred from the campus.

The players are suspended from school and will not be allowed on campus until the school completes a judicial review, expected sometime next week. When that happens, their status with the university -- as well as with the football team -- will be determined.

In a separate incident, Williams was arrested on gun charges Sunday.

None of the four played major roles for Alabama in the team’s national championship run this season. Hayes, a linebacker, had 14 tackles this past season, while Pettway, a defensive lineman, had four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
