Update:
Kolton Houston not on Georgia’s roster after absurd NCAA battle
The NCAA made Houston pay for years for something he did in high school, and for now at least, he is no longer a member of the Bulldogs football program.

Additional info on Kolton Houston, per UGA: He's still on scholarship, still trying to get eligible, as has been the case the last 2-3 years

Houston took an anabolic steroid in high school to aid his recovery from shoulder surgery. That substance is banned by the NCAA and, as of last season, still hadn’t left his body, which is why he wasn’t able to become eligible. In multiple drug tests, Houston’s steroid level remained consistent, which supports the evidence that he hasn’t re-taken the substance since enrolling at UGA.
But Houston still tested above the allowable threshold, and the NCAA never budged, essentially shrugging and saying, “the rules are the rules and our hands are tied,” despite some rather unique circumstances and calls for special action by UGA’s president.
“Over time you assume that substance would leave your body,” Richt said. “We’ve been waiting for that moment and it hasn’t come. It’s been two and a half years and this thing has not for whatever reason gotten out of there.
