The Falcons are looking for ways to stop mobile quarterbacks, and sat down with the Clemson coaching staff to see how their offense works.

The influx of college football concepts in the NFL over the past year or two has made adaption a priority. More teams are running systems with mobile quarterbacks like they do at Clemson, and pro teams are trying to pick the brains of those coaches for ways to stop them in the NFL.
Clemson had one of the top 10 offenses in the country, and put up those numbers in a spread system that incorporated elements of the pistol to augment its running game. It makes sense why the Falcons would send their defensive coaches there to figure out how to stop those types of offenses.
It’s now pretty normal for NFL teams to go and talk tactics with college coaching staffs. The New England Patriots famously borrowed some things from Chip Kelly’s offense at Oregon, and earlier this offseason, the Green Bay Packers visited with Texas A&M, also to get some pointers on stopping mobile quarterbacks.
