The Clemson Tigers will hold their first ever "Purple Out" during their final home game of 2013, a Nov. 23 matchup against The Citadel. That day will be Military Appreciation Day, and the purple will be worn to honor the military heritage of both schools, as well as Purple Heart recipients.
Clemson having Purple Out football game to honor Purple Heart winners
The purple will be worn to honor Purple Heart recipients, as well as the military traditions of both schools.

This is not the first time the Tigers have done something to honor veterans. Just last year, Army veteran and walk-on wide receiver Daniel Rodriguez led the Tigers down the hill before their game against Virginia Tech, which was most definitely awesome.
Clemson will also hold a “Solid Orange” day for their season opener against Georgia on Aug. 31. You can see the rest of the season’s game designations here, courtesy of TigerNet.
