2013 Texas football spring game TV schedule, position battles and more
The Longhorns will play their spring game on Saturday night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Here’s a few position battles to keep an eye on.

The spring game presents an opportunity for players to make moves in their position battles. While David Ash seems to be comfortably in place as the starting quarterback in Austin, reports would indicate that freshman Tyrone Swoopes is moving up the depth chart, and could find himself as the primary backup come August. If Swoopes can put on a good show in the spring game, it would go a long way to cementing him ahead of Case McCoy, Connor Brewer and Jalen Overstreet.
On defense, the position of importance looks like linebacker, which plays a huge role in Manny Diaz's defensive scheme. The Longhorns have a number of players vying for playing time, but fans would probably like to see former hyped recruit Jordan Hicks grab a starting spot and not let go.
