Syracuse players charged with felonies for stealing iPods, XBox games

The two Orange players are charged with breaking into an apartment and stealing electronics equipment.

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE

Two Syracuse football players are among a group of four students charged with burglary and petty larceny on Wednesday, according to the Syracuse Post-Standard. Defensive end Markus Pierce-Brewster and defensive tackle Davon Walls allegedly broke into an apartment on Syracuse's South Campus on Feb. 23 and stole a flat-screen television, an XBox, two iPods and XBox games. The apartment residents were supposedly asleep in the apartment when it was broken into.

The other two students were also charged with burglary and petty larceny, and also allegedly made off with a similar group of items.

Pierce-Brewster appeared in 13 games for the Orange in 2012 and had 35 tackles and a sack. Walls appeared in three games and failed to record any statistics. New Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer released a statement, but did not say whether the two players were suspended, or whether any other type of disciplinary action would be taken in the immediate future.
