The Aggies have their Heisman-winning QB back for 2013, but some younger players will be fighting it out in the Maroon and White game on Saturday to replace some outgoing talent.

The Aggies are coming off one an unexpectedly great season in 2012 and figure to be shoe-ins to be in the top 10 to start 2013. However, even though Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel is back for another year, A&M will have to replace some very productive players if they want to maintain their recent success.
Offense
The biggest hole to fill for the Aggies will be that of former left tackle Luke Joeckel, who will more than likely be a top-five pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, Jake Matthews is an outstanding player in his own right and will slide over from right tackle. There's little concern whether Matthews can handle the transition, and the Aggies appear to be in good shape.
The Aggies are also losing a pair of senior wide receivers in Ryan Swope and Uzoma Nwachukwu, but they are well stocked at the position for depth. Mike Evans led the team with 82 receptions and 1,105 yards as a freshman in 2012, and Thomas Johnson and Malcome Kennedy also produced as underclassmen. In addition to the players already on the roster, A&M has recruited well at wide receiver, so the future appears to be bright.
Defense
Texas A&M will have to replace almost its entire pass rush from 2012. The biggest loss is obviously defensive end Damontre Moore, who opted to leave for the draft after his junior year. Julien Obioha will be counted on to replace some of that production, as will Tyrell Taylor.
The linebacking corps is also in flux, as both Sean Porter and Jonathan Stewart will be moving on. Donnie Baggs and Steven Jenkins look good to get starting jobs, but Tommy Sanders, Brett Wade, and Reggie Chevis will be fighting for the third starting job.
