WR Thaddeus Snodgrass commits to Kentucky

Mark Stoops is starting to build a pipeline into Ohio, and that continues with four-star wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass, who committed to Kentucky Friday.

Bud Elliott, SB Nation Recruiting

Mark Stoops got one of his biggest gets since taking over as Kentucky’s head coach, landing wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass as the second commit in the Wildcats’ 2014 class.

Snodgrass, a 6’1 wide receiver from Springfield, Ohio, is on ESPN’s Watch List, ranked as a four-star player by Rivals and the No. 24 wide out in the class. Rivals reports that he runs a 4.44 40 and puts him among the top 200 players at any position in the country. Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and South Carolina were some notable schools among the 14 who offered Snodgrass a scholarship, making him quite the impressive commitment for Kentucky.

Stoops, an Ohio native, has had success recruiting the Buckeye state since taking over in Kentucky. The star recruit of the 2013 class, cornerback Marcus McWilson, hails from Youngstown, just like Stoops. And now both players in their 2014 class - the other is three-star linebacker Dorian Hendrix, from Huber Heights - come from Ohio. It’s a state with a lot of talent, and it is just across the river from Kentucky, so its a good sign that Stoops is working on building a pipeline and keeping it flowing.
