North Carolina is busting out a new set of uniforms Saturday at their spring game, which kicks off at 3 p.m. ET, but we got a little bit of a sneak peek thanks to a tweet from the team’s assistant equipment manager:

UNC shows off some new uniforms at its spring game, updating from their longtime powder-blue-on-white look to a more modern-looking powder blue-on-black.

The obvious change here: black. The blue is a little bit shinier/metallic than on North Carolina’s usual jerseys, but the uniform numbers shift from being white to being black, as does the stripe down the middle of the helmet. We also have the TV numbers that used to be on the sleeves moving up to the shoulder pads. And it looks like we’re dealing with three helmets -- one powder blue-on-white, one white-on-powder-blue, and one ... alternate?
I’m not crazy about it -- the old UNC uniforms had sort of a “classic” look, and this is a little bit unnecessarily modern. Thoughts, y’all?
