The LSU Tigers will play their spring game on Saturday, April 20, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. local) from Tiger Stadium. If you're in the area and want to see the game, admission is free to the public. Unfortunately, the game will not be televised, but it will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network.

The obvious area of interest for fans heading into the LSU spring game is on defense, which experienced a huge number of early departures to the NFL. Gone are defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery, defensive tackle Bennie Logan, linebacker Kevin Minter, and defensive backs Eric Reid, Tharold Simon and Tyrann Mathieu (although, Mathieu wasn't with the team in 2012). LSU recruits exceptionally well, especially on defense, but it's silly to think there won't be growing pains while replacing all that talent.
SB Nation's LSU blog, And The Valley Shook, tried to predict the defensive depth chart earlier this spring, and there are a lot of new faces in important positions. Most places seem to have Jermauria Rasco as one of the new defensive ends, with either Danielle Hunter or Justin Maclin as the other new starter. Ego Ferguson looks to have a leg up on Mickey Johnson to start next to Anthony Johnson, one of the few returning mainstays, at defensive tackle.
Linebacker is where things get a bit more interesting. Senior Lamin Barrow should be able to lock down one of the starting spots, but Tahj Jones, Deion Jones, Kwon Alexander and D.J. Welter should all be in the mix for the other two spots.
In the secondary, Jalen Mills and Craig Loston return at cornerback and strong safety. The free safety spot looks to belong to Ronald Martin, and the other cornerback job will be a fight between Jalen Collins, Derrick Raymond, and Dwayne Thomas.
