Jadeveon Clowney has a neck injury, and it probably isn’t that big a deal. So South Carolina is going to make very, very sure he’s OK and will probably shut him down for the rest of spring ball.
Jadeveon Clowney could be done for spring due to neck injury
Jadeveon Clowney’s neck is a bit stiff, so he’ll probably sit out for the rest of South Carolina spring ball -- less than a week.

Jadeveon Clowney did not practice again on Tuesday and it’s uncertain whether he will practice again this spring, due to a neck sprain. “His neck and back is still stiff. Whether he goes another snap (this spring), I don’t care,” said (defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward. There’s less than a week left in spring practice, so it’s not like this means much.
It’s pretty much universally acknowledged that the All-American -- who no longer boasts the Best of the Best play on SportsCenter, as his beheading of Vincent Smith was finally replaced, by the best spring football thing of all time -- is in his final year in college. It’s also pretty much universally acknowledged that he will be the best defensive end in college football, and kill many. And after that, he’ll declare for the NFL draft and most likely be selected first overall.
Because of all that, its of utmost importance that he doesn’t get hurt going forward for South Carolina’s sake, and for his sake, as he has a very lucrative future. He’s already taken out $5 million in insurance in case he does get injured. And if his neck is a little stiff in spring ball, they can have him take it easy. Practice or not, he’s a murderous beast capable of doing, well, all these crazy things.
