The Boulder County Sheriff's department arrested Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Jordan Webb and former teammate Alex Lewis on felony charges Saturday, according to John Henderson of the Denver Post.

Jordan Webb and Alex Lewis, both key players for Colorado during the 2012 season, were booked Saturday on second-degree felony assault charges.

Webb and Lewis have been charged with second-degree assault, which carries mandatory prison time with a conviction. Lewis was charged with an additional two counts of harassment.
The nature of the incident isn’t known at the time.
It’s been a newsworthy spring for both players. Webb, who was quarterback for Colorado’s only win last season, suffered a potentially season-ending torn ACL during a non-contact drill last month. The former Kansas transfer had hoped the injury would heal by late September, which would allow him to fight for the team’s starting quarterback spot.
Lewis, who started as a freshman and sophomore for the Buffaloes, recently announced he will transfer and spend his final two seasons of eligibility at Colorado’s former Big 12 rival, Nebraska.
It’s not known how the pair’s alleged involvement in a violent crime will affect their status with their respective schools.
